Grantville Gazette Podcast Demo Website

Grantville Gazette One had THREE covers. The first was Paul Ruben's classic portrait of his wife Helene known as "The Fur Cloak" or "Venus in Fur" depending on the source. Due to "Bill Gates" issues, and the fact that this image violated Baen's famous third rule of SF art direction, Tom Kidd re-imaged the portrait and Eric Flint wrote a story around it. Later, Jim Baen arranged to have Ann changed from a redhead to a blond.

Herewith -- three versions of Venus.

The Grantville Gazette originated as a by-product of the ongoing and very active discussions which take place concerning the 1632 universe I created in the novels 1632, 1633 and 1634: The Galileo Affair (the latter two books co-authored by David Weber and Andrew Dennis, respectively).
